Legendary Hollywood actor Christopher Plummer dies at 91

Veteran Canadian actor Christopher Plummer breathed his last breath on Friday, February 5, 2021 at his home in Connecticut.

Plummer’s manager Lou Pitt said in a statement “Chris was an extraordinary man who deeply loved and respected his profession with great old fashion manners, self-deprecating humor and the music of words.”

He further added, “He was a national treasure who deeply relished his Canadian roots. Through his art and humanity, he touched all of our hearts and his legendary life will endure for all generations to come.”

Plummer, who started his career as an aristocratic widower Captain Georg von Trapp opposite Julie Andrews in the classic The Sound of Music has worked in over 100 films and a dozen television series in his career spanning over seven decades.

Plummer’s family also released a statement after his death stating that he “died peacefully at his home in Connecticut with his wife Elaine Taylor at his side”.

After the news of his demise various celebrities like Julie Andrews, William Shatner, Rusell Crowe, Simon Pegg and many more paid tribute to him.
